Three disparate animals, which are nonetheless siblings, live in an invented forest where nothing stays in place. Even the pine trees dance, to the rhythm of this out-of-the-ordinary tribe's adventures! With songs and danced movement, we discover the shortcomings and contradictions of these brothers and sisters, but most of all, the connections, which unite them.
How are emotions born and how do they disappear? How do we tame them in order to live with them and live together? And particularly, what is Brotherhood? Here are the themes nourishing the work.
A humorous show for little ones (4 to 7 years old)
For the writing of this show, Des mots d’la dynamite reconnects with language as its driving force. When we perform our shows and meet children, we are seduced by the spontaneity of their comments. They are entertained by games of hide and seek and truths and lies and enjoy being told stories. They enter confidently into the world of illusions and their appetite for the "theatrical" act is contagious.
At the heart of the work, That's My Sister! are the themes of gratitude and the management of emotions through fraternal bonds. This show will come to fruition in 2019.
From January to december 2018, the writing of the show, That's My Sister! will be guided by regular meetings with three groups of children at the Autour du monde daycare and three groups from the Barclay School in Parc-Extension. These cultural mediation activities are being implemented thanks to the support of the Montreal cultural action program (Programme montréalais d’action culturelle) and the Foundation of Greater Montreal. Moreover, a weeklong residency at the Parc-Extension Maison de la culture will give us the opportunity to present a first version of the show in the autumn of 2018.
