NATHALIE DEROME
Interdisciplinary artist and performer, Nathalie Derome has been living and breathing on stage since the beginning of the ’80s. She considers herself a poet for whom the stage is the blank page. Her work is embedded in the autofiction tradition. She is particularly interested in the declensions of the “I when it leaves the I”, that is to say, in the relationship we hold with the personal and collective unconscious and the connections which unite the Intimate with the Universal. The research she embodies comes alive in the juxtaposition and the permeability of various disciplines: spoken word, performance, dance, theatre, song, video, poetry, visual arts. In addition to her creative work, she gives introductory workshops on interdisciplinary performance and teaches at various Québec universities.
